Why going there
The Costaccia refuge, thanks to its tradition, its culinary proposal and family atmosphere is a true historic institution of Livigno. It is divided in two floors; the ground floor features the sandwich bar and the restaurant upstairs. Outside there is an ample terrace with barbecue, real attraction of the restaurant, thanks to polenta cooked on an ancient pot, as they
did in the past. The restaurant offers revisited traditional cuisine, where wood fire cooking joins the refined dishes presentation. On the menu: pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, Livigno’s dumplings, BBQ meats, homemade desserts like the biscuit waffle with ice cream and wild berries or the fresh ricotta with blueberries. Don’t miss the refuge’s speciality: the deer’s milk in the bucket, or rather, the blueberry grappa poured with a scoop. In front of the refuge there is a wide flat area used as a solarium with a unique view on Livigno’s valley.
