New appointment with an international flavour, for the Little TIbet, which confirms itself as a favourite destination for all snow specialities

Livigno, 22.01.2024 - It is indeed an extraordinarily rich winter, the one Livigno is experiencing, the new epicentre of European sport, and an important reference point for the athlete community, both in winter and in summer. In the structures of the Little Tibet, in fact, in these days, it is possible to run into the American and Swiss national cross-country skiing teams, or a group of Italian swimmers, led by Gregorio Paltrinieri, who are completing their preparation for the next World Championships in Doha, qualifying for the 2024 Paris Games. The resort, therefore, once again proves to be a favourite choice for dozens of great international athletes, from Johannes Klaebo to Federica Pellegrini, from Elia Viviani to the world's best triathletes, who choose its state-of-the-art facilities for their training and loading periods. An excellence certified by the presence of the Aquagranda Olympic Preparation Centre and a constant flow of excellent attendance throughout the year.

Now, the official competition calendar is also enriched by a further prestigious appointment, with the confirmation of the stage of the FIS Telemark World Cup, an important international event that will animate the beginning of the third weekend of March. On Thursday 14 and Friday 15 March, in fact, in the Tagliede area, four different competitions will start, two men's and two women's, valid for the World Cup of the speciality, with the sprint, faster and more adrenalinic, to open the two days, and the classic format, longer and more technical, to close the programme. The perfect occasion to admire some of the best athletes in the world challenging each other in a discipline with a strong history and great spectacular impact.

Telemark, in fact, like the other parallel and alternative currents to the more traditional snow sports, Alpine skiing and Nordic skiing above all, has always been at home in Livigno, which has actively supported and encouraged its practice and promotion. Home to freestyle and snowboarding since their arrival in Europe, the Little Tibet, which will also host the Olympic competitions at the 2026 Games, has also been able to welcome telemark skiing and help its spread, thanks to numerous initiatives, successfully built over the years, and to a community deeply in love with the discipline. A great identity communion, which also manifests itself in the presence of the young home athlete, Giacomo Bormolini, class of 2003, twice on the podium last year at the Junior World Championships in Kravavec and expected protagonist, in March, of the Livigno stage. This event enriches the already packed programme of the month, which will culminate with the Junior World Snowboard and Freestyle Championships, a true Five Circles appetiser.
