Five performances in three days, already sold out to celebrate the one-year countdown to the Olympics.
A dive into the magic of the Five Rings.
Livigno, 09/01/2025 – It will be a truly special experience for the audience of “Circles, The Journey of Games,” an original theatrical production set to debut in Livigno from February 5 to 7. This performance marks the official countdown to the 2026 Winter Olympics on home soil.
The show is specifically designed to celebrate the spirit of the Five Rings, while also highlighting the unique features of Livigno—a destination long associated with freestyle and snowboarding, the very disciplines that will crown Olympic champions in this “Little Tibet.”
In a fairytale setting, surrounded by nature, and in an exclusive location—the Alpine Sky Theater, a structure specially created for the occasion in the snowfarm area—the Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre will present a captivating collective story that traverses the history of winter sports and the mountains.
A prominent player on the international stage, the group, led by the creative genius of Giulia Staccioli—former Olympic athlete and head of Kataklò for over 30 years—boasts extensive Five Rings experience, from Turin 2006 to Paris 2024, where their art has enriched the narrative of sport.
“Circles, The Journey of Games“, part of the Cultural Olympiad project, the Olympics of Culture, stems from the vision of Jacopo Pozzi—author and narrator—and Giulia Staccioli, aiming to offer audiences an immersive dive into the history of Olympism and its values, as well as the unique essence of mountain life.
The 75-minute production unfolds across five “scenes,” guiding the audience on a comprehensive journey: from the discovery of sport as a form of play to the birth of the modern Games, from the distinctiveness of mountain living to the Olympics in Livigno.
Our work has long served as a bridge between sport and culture, with the goal and ambition of creating a dialogue between elements that may seem distant from one another," commented Giulia Staccioli, founder and creative director of Kataklò. "The Olympics are a part of human history, and representing them is always a new challenge, especially when, as in this case, an entire community—Livigno’s—takes the stage."
The premiere is scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, at 9:00 PM, exactly one year and one day before the Olympic flame is lit. In the following days, there will be four additional performances: two morning shows for schools and two evening shows open to the public.
Tickets available to the public have already sold out well in advance, but by following Livigno's social media channels, you can stay updated on booking windows that will be opened between now and the day of the premiere.
