Livigno and U.C. Sampdoria: the perfect start of the season
Livigno, 07/26/2023 - The first visit to Livigno of U.C. Sampdoria, which chose the resort to kick off its 2023/2024 sports season, ended with mutual satisfaction. Andrea Pirlo's boys arrived in the Little Tibet on July 12 to start their summer retreat with about ten days of training at the Aquagranda facility.
There was unanimous positive feedback from the club, which said it was impressed with the level of facilities made available to the team. From Andrea Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi, the majority shareholders of the historic Genoese club, to Nicola Legrottaglie, a great former AC Milan and Juventus player and now Technical Director of the Blucerchiati; from Andrea Pirlo himself to the players: Livigno warmly welcomed Samp's arrival, allowing the team to experience a peaceful and constructive retreat.
The traditional mix of world-class facilities and a people-friendly lifestyle has been attracting the best athletes in the World to the resort for years. A great peculiarity of Little Tibet, which is always able to offer the right balance between training quality and gastronomic-cultural leisure opportunities to those who choose it for their training. A unique welcome, which even the Sampdoria players were able to touch with their own hands, crowning their experience with a characteristic dinner based on Valtellina specialties, consumed at high altitude, in the evocative location of Carosello 3000.
There was also an excellent response from the public, who thronged the stands of the Aquagranda field during the weekends to watch the friendly matches played by the Dorians during the retreat. The first test went on record on July 16, against a Rappresentativa Valtellinese team, and won 7-0, followed by the more challenging engagements against Rapperswill, a Swiss team, and Pro Patria, played on July 19 and 23, respectively, and concluded with two clear victories.
A collaboration that started off on the right foot and will continue throughout the sports season, both through the team's communication channels and at the Luigi Ferraris stadium in the Marassi district, the home of the Blucerchiati, where Livigno will have dedicated visibility. But the hope is that this is only the first step of a wider-ranging and long-lasting partnership, as confirmed by the words of Luca Moretti, President and CEO of APT Livigno: "The partnership with Sampdoria wants to be the first step of a medium-long term strategy, which sees soccer as an important tool for growth, and which reflects on Livigno at 360°, both in terms of brand recognition and value for the entire community"."
