Livigno, 15/01/2025 – The Little Tibet Confirms Itself as a Major European Capital of Cycling. Livigno is once again preparing to host this year’s traditional Granfondo Livigno Alè, one of the most eagerly awaited events for Italian cycling enthusiasts. A historic event, it returns to explore the untouched nature of Livigno, a magical destination for cycling lovers. Among its pristine mountains, visitors can enjoy dozens of options and an endless combination of possibilities. From mountain biking to downhill, from challenging alpine passes to scenic trails suitable for the whole family, Livigno is always ready to meet every two-wheel need.
So, even in the heart of winter, it is never too early to start planning your next sports trip. You can take advantage of special offers available until April to enjoy a reduced price for participating in the Granfondo Livigno Alè.

The race, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, takes place during a period full of new opportunities for cycling enthusiasts. As for the Alè, registrations have been open since last December, with the price locked at €60.00 until April 30. This is a unique opportunity to secure your race number under highly advantageous conditions, choosing between two proposed route options to test your abilities.

The Mediofondo route spans 106 km with 2,050 meters of elevation gain. It begins in Livigno, climbs the Passo della Forcola and Passo del Bernina, descends into the Engadine Valley to Zernez, then ascends the Passo del Forno, crosses the Munt La Schera Tunnel, and finishes at Mottolino. This finale is the exact same as the iconic queen stage of last year’s Giro d’Italia. The Granfondo route, on the other hand, covers 166 km with a staggering 4,100 meters of elevation gain. It extends the shorter route by including the Passo Umbrail, Passo del Foscagno, and Passo Eira. These routes, of rare beauty, traverse the entire Alpine arc surrounding the area, offering participants emotions that will last a lifetime.

Yet another confirmation of how deeply cycling is rooted in Livigno’s identity: it has always been a favored destination for numerous champions and top teams, completing their preparation for the most important seasonal events thanks to altitude training. For years, this location has been a partner of major stage races and the most iconic Classics in our country. More recently, it was also the stage for the Giro d’Italia, where Tadej Pogacar wrote a page of Italian cycling history right at Mottolino. A special climb, which, like all the scenic spots in the area, will also feature in the Granfondo Livigno Alè.
