A few days before the event, qualifying for the Kima Trophy. Piccolo Tibet prepares to welcome runners, Places still available for the 'Brooks Livigno Sky Trail'.
The great anticipation for the 2023 edition of the Livigno Skymarathon, organised in collaboration with the new main partner Brooks, is now drawing to a close and we are eagerly awaiting the start of one of the most technical and spectacular skyruns of the entire season.
Moreover, starting this year, the Livigno event will be enriched with a further, electrifying nuance of meaning, as it will put up for grabs 100 wild cards for the prestigious Kima 2024 Trophy, just like the 'Grigne Skymarathon' in September, thus constituting a real circuit of the best Italian skyruns. A novelty to which all the athletes present at the start will look with great interest, and which also redefines the cadence of the Livigno race, which will thus become a biennial event, precisely to adhere to the Kima programme.
It is therefore not surprising to note how the beauty of a well-tested route and the attractiveness of the wild cards have pushed the runners to pulverise the available bibs, for a sell-out announced, by now, for days. With its 36 km and 2400 metres of altitude difference, the Brooks Livigno Skymarathon"will reach the peaks of Monte Motto (2700 m.) followed by Punta Cassana (3016 m.) from Pizzo Cassana, also known as Piz da Rin (3007 m.) and finally Monte delle Rezze (2858 m.), for a course that is extremely difficult from a technical point of view and very suggestive in terms of landscape.
Pectorals, on the other hand, are still available for the 'Brooks Livigno Sky Trail', the shortened version of 17 km and 1400 metres of altitude difference, which this year will be run on a new course, more technical than in the past, and which will reach an altitude of 3000 metres on the legendary Piz Cassana, just like its 'big sister'.
A very full programme, starting on Friday 16 June: in the afternoon, opening of the expo area, near the start and finish area of the race, while at 6 p.m. there will be a technical briefing with Marco De Gasperi, creator of the route.
The start of the races is scheduled for Saturday morning, in the town centre: at 8.30 am the Skymarathon, and an hour later the Sky Trail. Finally, the expo area will remain open to the public throughout Saturday.
A perfect weekend to combine great sport with the natural beauty of Livigno, and the most engaging and auspicious way to celebrate a prestigious new partnership.
