Livigno, in a magnificent summer setting, won by Alex Baldaccini and Nina Voelchel for a victory also broadcast live on TV for the first time

Livigno, 21/07/2024: Also this year the Brooks Stralivigno 2024 kept all its promises, giving the participants a Midsummer Saturday to remember. Favourable weather, made ideal by beautiful sunshine and mild temperatures, welcomed the athletes at the start, making the event even more enjoyable and spectacular. The turnout and general participation were also excellent, for an event that traditionally manages to attract runners from all over Italy, local sportsmen and a large number of foreign runners in equal measure.

The 1,000 present at the start, including those registered for the historical 21 km format and those who animated the highly appreciated relay, a race that offered the opportunity to share as a group a day of sport and contact with nature. In particular, much appreciated by all the athletes, the final stretch of the route, embellished by two kilometres of trail: a moment of contact with the uncontaminated nature of Livigno, and a glimpse of scenic beauty that left its mark on all participants.

Particularly impressive was also the passage of the runners through the town centre, with the streets full of tourists, fans and onlookers, who did not hesitate to express their support to the athletes, creating a unique and engaging setting: a real embrace from the whole community, which has always been attentive to the sporting dynamics promoted and supported by the resort. People, local and not, who were also able to take advantage of the great novelty of 2024, with the exclusive live broadcast of the event on My Livigno Tv: a useful tool to not miss a single moment of the competition.

The men's race saw the clear success of Alex Baldaccini, with a time of 01:17:53, capable of beating the second-placed Finn Remi Lindholm by almost two minutes and Massimiliano Zanaboni, third at the finish line, by almost three. In the women's competition, on the other hand, a ‘round-the-world’ podium, with the final victory going to Germany's Nina Voelchel, in 01:31:05, ahead of Italy's Ivana Iozzia and Finland's Mina Oravamaki, testifying to the international nature of the competition.

A day under the banner of collective participation that once again underlines Livigno's deepest soul, which is closely linked to sport and its values of sharing, respect and sustainability. A great shared emotion, which began in Aquagranda, the Olympic Preparation Centre so familiar to hundreds of international champions, then continued through the streets of the town centre and the most evocative paths, and ended with the Felicetti Pasta Party and the prize-giving ceremony in a crowded and cheering Plaza Placheda: the perfect picture to tell our idea of competition and sport.
