For the team of Paola Egonu and her teammates, four days of camp in Little Tibet
Livigno, 15.09.2023 - The protagonists of great volleyball land in the Little Tibet, joining the countless athletes, representing as many disciplines, who have been choosing Livigno for years to refine their training. After the football experience at the beginning of the summer, by U.C. Sampdoria, with Andrea Pirlo's boys sweating on the field and in the Aquagranda facilities, it was the turn of another team sport, a welcome novelty, at these levels, for the people of Livigno.
It was, in fact, President Alessandra Marzari's Allianz Vero Volley Milano that animated this mid-September, completing a mini-camp of intense training sessions at the Teola gym and at the Aquagranda, where the players also used the beach volleyball court.
A cycle that began on Wednesday 13, for the girls coached by coach Marco Gaspari, who are now setting their sights on the first day of the championship, scheduled for 8 October at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, against Busto Arsizio. The team is back from an excellent season, culminating with access to the Scudetto final, a triumph that faded only in game 5, and with qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals, where the Vero Volleyball girls only bowed to the might of the Turkish VakifBank, then winners of the tournament.
And it is from VakifBank that the most eagerly awaited face of the 2023/2024 season arrives, the newly acquired Paola Egonu, who was voted best player in the last Champions League. The opposite player from Cittadella, class of 1998, who has been absent from Livigno for the past few days, will join an already very competitive roster, among the most complete in Europe, that will start the championship with great expectations and that confirms its star players including Miriam Sylla, Alessia Orro, Beatrice Parrocchiale and Raphaela Folie.
The presence of Allianz VV Milano and Volley Mulhouse Alsace in Livigno is yet another confirmation of the quality of the work done in recent years and of the uniqueness of what we can offer the athletes, both in terms of facilities and in terms of environment and hospitality. The Aquagranda, as an Olympic Preparation Centre, is a great hub, able to host many different disciplines, which then articulate their activities in the rest of the country. It is a process of growth that involves everyone and that we are carrying out in the right way, and I also believe that for our young people, these opportunities are a source of great inspiration' these are the words of Luca Moretti, President and CEO of APT Livigno.
