The seventh edition of Sentiero Gourmet, the not-to-be-missed "marathon of taste" promoted by the Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of Livigno (ACPL) is just a few days away. This year it will be supported by the Italian Association of Ambassadors of Taste through the participation of seven authoritative chefs of the Alpine arc.
The event will take place on Friday 14 July 2023 in Livigno, in a truly sensational setting: 5 kilometres of pedestrian route divided into stages that, in the Valle del Vago, will conquer the public's palates through a unique sensory adventure. The succession of this unmissable event is made possible thanks to the constant commitment of the Associazione Cuochi e Pasticceri di Livigno (Livigno Chefs' and Pastry Chefs' Association), founded in the spring of 2001 with the aim of safeguarding and promoting Livigno's traditional culinary customs. Over the years, the Association has promoted other important initiatives, such as the publication of the book Leina da Saor, a project that has involved the entire Livigno community in the recovery of ancient recipes and traditional ingredients, and also
the TAST - Livigno Native Food project, which brings corners to hotels and flats where guests can taste traditional products made in Livigno.
The central theme of this edition is the cuisine of the Alps, and while the Association of Livigno's Chefs and Pastry Chefs will pay homage to its territory, each of the chefs of the Italian Association of Ambassadors of Taste, which has always been committed to the valorisation and promotion of quality Italian cuisine, will bring the flavours of the Alpine area to which it is linked. There will be five Ambassadors of Taste coming to Livigno from as many mountainous regions of Northern Italy, bringing their own culinary tradition and identity to the table, and
creating a truly unexpected and enthralling journey of taste.
To discover the excellence of Italian and Valtellina cuisine, all that remains is to take the path that leads straight to the first of the six stages of this incredible journey: in each of the six stages, the ACPL chefs, together with the chefs of the Associazione Ambasciatori del Gusto, will be ready to excite the taste buds of the guests - divided into 8 groups of 30 people each - with their creations.
The stations will feature a selection of hot and cold, land and sea, sweet and savoury finger food paired with excellent wines and presented in a creative and original way. The six stages will begin with appetisers prepared by Gloria Clama (Indiniò Restaurant in Raveo) and Federico Beretta (Feel Restaurant in Como), followed by first and second courses prepared by Matteo Sormani (Locanda Walser Schtuba Restaurant in Riale) and Alessandro Gilmozzi (El Molin Restaurant in Cavalese, 1 Michelin star), the latter President of the Associazione Ambasciatori del Gusto, and finally dessert prepared by Paolo Griffa (Caffè Nazionale in Aosta).
The coffee and bitters station that will close this magical gastronomic itinerary cannot be missed.
Sentiero Gourmet is a limited event. Departures will be staggered every 20 minutes starting at 11:40 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. at the meeting point at the San Cristoforo church; at the time of registration (compulsory), you will be able to select your departure time. Tickets cost 120 euros per person.
